SILLY GAME
It's a song about dawn to dusk and everything that comes before and after. Told by someone who’s wondering what the rules in life are as they notice how much beauty there is in the simplest things and if it isn’t just one big video game where the only opponent is themselves. We explored the infinite musical elements of the 60s and this inspired a gorgeously complex backing vocal arrangement reminiscent of the lost sounds of loading computer games. We laughed, cursed, then laughed again perfecting it. Silly Game also has a rare stylophone solo. We hope you like it.
Lyrics
I'm walking down the street
I see things differently
And everything is going on
I hear the wind's sweet change
I hear it all again
I'm seeing all that's going on
And I can't have you now
But I'm alright somehow
The birds drown out the street
Symphony just for me
I'm hearing all that's going on
Walk by the bakery
I smell it all for free
I taste the coffee hot and strong
And I can't have you now
But I'm alright somehow
Stylophone Solo
Glass shards lay on the street
They sparkle at my feet
A million colours shining strong
Life is a silly game
Not one day's quite the same
And everything is going on...
Life is a silly game
Life is a silly game
Life is a silly game
